Ungoogled Chromium is is essentially a drop-in replacement for Chromium sans dependency on Google web services. It retains the default Chromium experience as closely as possible but also features some tweaks to enhance privacy, control, and transparency (almost all of which require manual activation or enabling).

Core principles

• Remove all Google web service integration: This includes features like Google Host Detector, Google URL Tracker, and Safe Browsing.
• Block internal requests to Google: As a fail-safe, the browser replaces internal Google web domain names with a non-existent domain (*.qjz9zk) and blocks all requests to it.
• Strip binaries from the source code: Pre-built, proprietary binaries are removed from the source code during compilation.
• Promote transparency and control: While most of the default Chromium experience is preserved, many privacy and control-enhancing tweaks can be manually activated by users.
